Drew is the founder and CEO of MEQ, and the visionary behind the company’s diverse business and investment strategies within key Western U.S. real estate markets. In addition to leading the MEQ team, Drew is responsible for leading the continued growth and evolution of the organization as well as the implementation of its comprehensive Development, Asset Management, Operational, Financial and Transactional objectives.
Prior to founding MEQ (and its predecessor entities BCMI & BCP), Drew was one of the founding members of Arden Realty, Inc., (former NYSE: ARI) a New York Stock Exchange real estate investment trust (REIT) and the largest owner of commercial office assets in Southern California with over 20 Million Square feet of commercial office properties. As Arden’s Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Operations, Drew was effectively the company’s COO with direct responsibility for creating and implementing Arden’s strategic objectives for real estate, capital markets, finance and corporate operations. Drew also had direct oversight of the Senior Management Team and over 400 company employees. Prior to Arden, Drew joined Arden’s predecessor entity in 1990 as General Counsel and held several key executive positions, ultimately leading the management team and overseeing the company’s growth from an independent private company of 3 people, through its IPO in 1996 and further until 2005 as a public operating company with a market cap over $4.8 Billion. Arden outperformed its peer group for the 10 years it was public by a significant amount, returning well over double digit annual returns. Beyond Arden, Drew has also been involved in the formation and launch of several other real estate enterprises including Rexford Industrial (Current NYSE: REXR); Belay Investment Group (formerly American Value Partners); and the Brentwood Capital group of companies.
