Janie Grajeda serves as MEQ’s Controller and has worked with MEQ’s predecessor entity and Drew Sobel for over ten years. She is responsible for all of the accounting, finance, reporting, insurance and risk management aspects of the company, which includes the development of financial and operational strategies designed to preserve company assets and to ensure accurate financial reporting. She also manages investor and lender relations including oversite of quarterly investor reporting and distributions as well as lender communication. As part of the MEQ’s leadership team, Janie is directly involved in the day-to-day operations of both the MEQ portfolio as well as the overall company, including support of strategic operational and investment objectives.
Janie has spent her career working in the real estate industry for privately-held companies and has experience in the acquisition, development, operation and disposition phases of investment. She is known for her knowledge in financial reporting and regulations, cash management, investor relations, human resources, controls implementation and forecasting to mitigate risks and Accounting and Finance department leadership.
A Los Angeles native, Janie received a dual Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Political Science from Mount St. Mary’s University and is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance at the Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management with an expected completion date of August 2017. She is also a licensed Notary in the State of California.
