Marla wears many hats at MEQ and currently oversees design and construction management for MEQ’s Santa Monica and Los Angeles tenant improvements. She also oversees MEQ’s small asset infill residential program in Santa Monica and the surrounding Markets.
Marla’s most recent design project was the remodeling of MEQ’s corporate offices where she oversaw the design and renovation of 20-year-old traditional office space into cutting edge creative and collaborative space to serve MEQ’s current and future office needs. She also runs MEQ’s small asset infill residential program where MEQ seeks to acquire infill or single family lots and convert them into two-to-four unit for sale townhome or row homes.
Marla’s real estate career started in 1988, opening US Financial Network, Inc., a firm specializing in low-income-housing lending throughout Southern California. In addition to traditional lending models, Marla led US Financial Network, Inc., in creating real estate lending options for the rural development of manufactured homes on residential lots as well as assisting banking institutions with identifying and implementing inner city redevelopment opportunities.
While Marla continues to be a licensed corporate broker of record for US Financial, Inc., she more recently focused on lending for purchase, refinance and, most prominently, construction financing that targets higher risk properties and/or borrowers. Given her extensive background in construction finance, she also expanded into developing and selling her own real estate investment projects including high-capital-growth repositions of existing assets as well as ground-up development.
She continues to expand her scope of work with the development of in-fill multifamily projects throughout Los Angeles County. Marla holds a California Brokers license # 01124285 and NMLS #346162.
