Scott Lyle is COO of MEQ, and provides executive oversight for all operational aspects of the company and its portfolio of commercial real estate investments including retail, creative office and multifamily assets located across the Western United States. His primary focus is optimizing investor returns through a variety of comprehensive best practices developed over years of successful portfolio optimization as well as executing strategic initiatives across the organization.
Scott has more than 20 years of experience driving successful returns and innovation in commercial real estate investments in major markets throughout the U.S. Formerly the COO at Arden Realty/GE Capital, Scott oversaw Arden’s operations during its transition from a Southern California-based office REIT into a national landlord, expansion into eight major markets and execution of more than $6 billion in real estate transactions. He created a set of customized standards that resulted in $16 million in operational savings and today remains a blueprint of excellence for the commercial real estate industry. He was also responsible for the company’s strategic tenant initiatives for every facet of occupancy and retention including satisfaction and expansion, areas in which he produced significant improvements in multiple portfolios.
Scott is a recognized expert in commercial real estate energy efficiency and innovative approaches to sustainable practices that are good for the environment and the bottom line. In his role as a leader in sustainability, Scott has been invited to speak by key government officials in the City of Los Angeles, the State of California, the EPA and the California Energy Commission, as well as former Vice President Al Gore. In 2011, Scott addressed government, environmental and real estate professionals in Shanghai, China on sustainability strategies for commercial real estate portfolios.
